Our every day work with children is based on the Annual Plan of Care and Education, according to which we carry out following goals:

  • child’s adaptation in the nursery,
  • development of self-service actions and reinforcing of hygiene habits,
  • development of physical fitness,
  • discovering and developing child’s abilities and talents,
  • developing concentration skills, abstract thinking and mathematical concepts,
  • developing imagination and shaping the personality through reading,

Educational classes in the nursery take place throughout play adjusted to children’s age, abilities and interests. We show children not only the surrounding world, but also its distant corners. We teach, among other things, about animals, weather, seasons, and traditions of Christmas, Easter and other special days.

OFFERED PROGRAMS

PRE-SCHOOL - Kluczborska & Krasińskiego

Classes at Kangurek Hop preschool are carried out every day and are based on:

  • an annual original program developed by a group of teachers especially for our children. The program is compatible with the new core curriculum of preschool education issued on 23 December 2008 and extended by additional content stimulating children’s interests, for example: space travels, Poland at the time of the Kings, travelling around continents, inventions in the field of travelling or the diversity of species in both the animal and plant world (i.e. we learn about paramecium caudatum or carnivorous plants)
  • program „Nasze Przedszkole” by Małgorzata Kwaśniewska i Wiesława Żaba-Żabińska awarded in the competition of Ministry of National Education and Centre for Education Development.

In Kangurek Hop preschool we are currently working (2015/2016 school year) with the following textbooks:

  • three year olds – „Kolorowy start. Trzylatek”,
  • four year olds – „Kolorowy start. Czterolatek”,
  • five and six year olds – „Kalendarz przedszkolaka”,

METHODS WE USE

INNOVATIVE METHODS OF WORKING WITH CHILDREN

Because we care about comprehensive and harmonious development of every child we additionally use a number of innovative methods.

Gymnastics metod by Kazimiera Wlaźnik

A metod comprising a series of movement gmes and exercises developing children’s physical activity and shaping the correct posture

Education through play by Klanza

triggers activity and music – movement expression in children. It uses various music and movement games to facilitate acquiring knowledge about new surroundings and dances to integrate children.

Creative movement method by Rudolf Laban

A method of expressive-artictic gymnastics. In this method a child uses various forms of movement, such as pantomime, dance, music and movement exercises. These techniques give you the opportunity to develop a sense of one’s body and movement smoothness.

Developmental Movement Method by Veronica Sherborne

is all about physical exercises leading to one’s own body awareness, helping to build confidence, sense of security and facilitate co-working with others.

Games based on Klaus Vopel’s Method

It is used to help children to relax and to support their development. Children learn to observe their own environment and become acquainted with different roles. In this method we use imaginative play, themed games, musical improvisation, dance.

Elements taken from the Montesorii method

In the form of constructional and handling games, drama and relaxation techniques.

Spoken verbal expression

Includes reading stories and fairy tales, presenting chosen imaginary scenes using puppets, marionettes or other toys.

In addition, supporting the intellectual development of children, it is important already from three years of age to implement the acquisition of literacy and numeracy. For this purpose we use:

The method of entering the world of letters by Irena Majchrzak

A method of teaching reading, in which the starting point are the letters of children’s names. Introducing children to the world of letters begins with getting familiar with the graphical appearance of a child’s own name. This is followed by a series of exercises aimed at the discovery of the alphabetic key, that means distinguishing the letter, and identifying its phonetics (searching for the chosen letter in friend’s names, finding all the “A” letters, counting the like). The child learns and recognizes the letters by observation.

The Good Start Method by Marta Bogdanowicz

It’s main premise is to develop language and perceptive functions (visual, auditory, tactile) and the interactions between them, which means perceptual – motor integration. The Good Start Method affects the intellectual development of the child and facilitates the process of reading and writing. It is very useful in working with disturbed children and helping in the treatment of disorders . In addition, it prevents the occurrence of specific development difficulties in reading and writing, for example dyslexia.

Global Reading Method by Glenn Doman

Is based on presenting whole words, which in the first place are stored as pictograms closely united to their meaning. While reading globally the child recognizes and names whole words, instead of focusing on their structure and singular letters. In fact, global reading can be applied from early childhood. Children “read” texts on advertisements, cereal boxes or titles of books and it does not bother them that they do not know the letters.

Children’s Mathematics by E. Gruszczyk – Kolczyńska

is based on games and activities affecting the ability of counting, numeracy, classification, addition and subtraction.
